Life Can Change Fast

Jan 14, 2021 | Clergy Corner

Dear St. Paul’s,

Life can change fast even during this pandemic where some days it feels like life is standing still.  I write to share with you all that Laurie has tested positive for Covid-19. Her symptoms are very mild but of course we are taking all of the necessary precautions.  As of this writing I have no symptoms and neither do our kids. I greatly welcome your prayers for Laurie and for our family at this time.  If there is anything else that we might need that information will be shared with the congregation through Fr. Ray and our Pastoral Care team.

It was my hope to be writing in detail about upcoming events and programs today, but because of the news around my family’s health some of those plans are being impacted.  That said I want to draw your attention to a few things:

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Party Packs: While we won’t be able to enjoy fellowship around pancakes in our parish hall this year, Parish Life at St. Paul’s wants you to enjoy the spirit of Shrove Tuesday from the comfort and safety of your home.  Everything you will need will be included in these take away party packs and available for pickup from the church parking lot on a first come first serve basis on Sunday February 14th 8:30am and 12pm. More details can be found in the E-News section on our website or by clicking here.

Lent in a Box:  This year Christian Formation is excited to offer you an opportunity to live more deeply into the season of Lent in your home.  We will provide a few symbols of the season to aid in reflection as well as include some activities for you to engage more directly with.  If you’d like to learn more and reserve a box please visit our E-News page under Lent/Easter or click here.

While this virus has made life difficult for all of us I give thanks for opportunities to imagine new ways of honoring our observances and traditions.  I am grateful for all of those who have given their time and energy to these plans and church life during this pandemic.  God is certainly still at work among us.  I am also exceedingly grateful for your prayers at this time for my family over these next few weeks.

God’s Peace,

Adam
