Hello Fellow Parishioners,
My name is Joyce Connelly. I am happy to share a bit about myself so when you see me wearing my St. Paul’s name tag at church or one of our many activities, you’ll be able to say “hi” and we won’t be strangers any longer!
I was born in Lawrence, Mass., and gradually moved to more southern states, finally arriving at my destination: Leland. I have two children, Kathleen and Michael, both of whom are married. I am the proud grandmother of 3 grandchildren, a 2-year-old great grandchild and another great grandchild to be born in July of this year.
Some of my favorite past times are being with family and friends enjoying a campfire while RVing, gathering for family reunions, reading and enjoying nature.
Over a span of 40 years, I had been an elementary school educator. My proudest career moment was receiving the Archdiocese of Washington Principal of the Year award.
Upon retirement as a school administrator in Frederick, MD, and relocating to Leland, I attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and found myself surrounded by wonderful, caring, faithful people. It was during this time that I met Rev. Dr. Dena Whalen, was instructed in the Episcopalian faith and on January 12, 2020, was received into the Episcopal Church. I am happy to be considered one of the faithful members of St. Paul’s.
