In 2004 when I married Lou Criscuolo and moved from Southport to Wilmington, I searched for a neighborhood Episcopal church. When we drove to the one closest to our downtown home, there did not seem to be a parking spot handy. I had researched the next closest and we found St Paul’s! A strange path to where we were supposed to be, but ultimately a happy landing. Raised in a Norwegian Lutheran family in Minnesota, I first found the comfort of Vespers while attending nursing school at St. Barnabas in Minneapolis. Throughout the years, many moves, lifestyle changes, visits to a variety of churches and chapels, I have decided St. Paul’s is my home.
Seven years on the hospitality committee provided the opportunity to find friendship and purpose in the church. My husband’s ashes are in what is now the lovely Garden and mine will be someday as well. In the meantime I love where we are headed with vibrant God inspired leadership, messages of love and hope and joy. And the Music!! Yes, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is my home.
