Children, Youth & Family Ministry Coordinator Appointed

Jun 16, 2022 | Clergy Corner

In my initial letter to the parish regarding the development of a vision for St. Paul’s, I conveyed that we would be using a creative approach to funding additional clergy and program staff and creating a strategy to attract and retain children, youth, and families. Last August I asked Martha Whitesides, with her extensive background in Children and Youth Ministry, to work with me and with the Children’s Ministries Committee to discern what might be the next step in our ministry to Children, Youth, and Families at St. Paul’s.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Meaghan Thomas as part-time Children, Youth, and Family Ministry Coordinator at St. Paul’s.  Meaghan has been with us for quite some time as a church member and vestry leader, serving in the areas of Children’s Ministries and Human Resources. Meaghan will finish her term on vestry in January but at our June meeting this past Monday, the vestry fully supported the decision for her to begin straight away in continuing the good work already begun in our ministry to Children, Youth, and Families. Meaghan is currently teaching 4th grade at Wrightsville Beach Elementary School and has taught K-8 throughout her 16 year career in Education. With her level of experience and leadership in our parish, I am very excited for her to officially begin in this new capacity.

Congratulations Meaghan!

Faithfully,
