We found each other later in our lives. We married thirty-one years ago in Kingsport, Tenn. We have 3 sons and 2 daughters from our previous marriages. We also have 3 granddaughters and 5 grandsons. None of our family members live in North Carolina.
Prior to our meeting, Brad had worked in accounting in New York City, New Jersey, Asheville, and Hilton Head. Brad did some Real estate in Hilton Head and Kingsport. He also sold windows in Kingsport. Brad did mortgages in Raleigh and Wilmington. Beth previously worked as a Conference Coordinator at Purdue University, and eventually became a Realtor in Kingsport. Currently Brad works fulltime as Broker/Owner of Van Amberg Realty and Beth works fulltime at Barnes and Noble Bookstore. Brad’s passions are senior softball and tennis. Beth’s passions are reading, crossword puzzles, and going to the beach.
Beth was raised United Methodist on a farm near Monmouth, Ill. Brad grew up in a non- practicing Roman Catholic home in Montclair, N.J, and then Glen Ridge, N.J. Brad connected with the Episcopal church while attending Trinity Pawling school in Pawling, N.Y. After marrying we explored different denominations in Kingsport, Raleigh and then Wilmington when we moved here in 2006. We have been attending St. Paul’s for approximately 7 years and became members approximately 4 years ago. Lately we have enjoyed becoming more involved through ushering and Beth is beginning to help with the Source gift shop. We look forward to continuing our growth in faith at St. Paul’s.
