We are Frank and Marcia Wolf, members of St Paul’s since April of this year. We moved to North Carolina from the Washington DC area in the summer of 2020, right in the middle of COVID. Native Kansans, we came in search of warmer weather and a more relaxed lifestyle….meaning no traffic. We settled in the River Landing community, near Wallace.
Meeting at the University of Kansas, Frank began a career in the Air Force and retired at the grade of Colonel in 2006. Following retiring after 26 years of active duty, Frank served for ten years as a GS-15 on the Joint Staff in the Pentagon. Marcia followed a career in teaching elementary and middle school in North Dakota, Nebraska, Virginia, Montana and California. We have three children, two living in Virginia and one in North Carolina.
Frank enjoys golf and little else, Marcia spends her time gardening and reading, and we both avidly watch KU basketball (not football) on television. We appreciate that North Carolina, like Kansas, is a “basketball state.”
We greatly enjoy living in the Wilmington area and are especially happy to have found St Paul’s. Due to COVID, our first exposure to St Paul’s was through your excellent You Tube channel. The beauty of the building, the excellence of the music, and the wit, wisdom, and folksy charm of Father Lee were compelling through the broadcast, and so we came in person. So glad we did!
