Plant Swap at Parish Picnic
May 22 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Our Parish Picnic falls on Rogation Sunday, which is the Sunday before the church observes rogation days. Rogation Days are the three days preceding Ascension Day, especially devoted to asking for God’s blessing on agriculture and industry.
Do you have a houseplant that is out of control? A patch of perennials that need thinned out in your garden or a “sprouter” that has popped up in an unexpected place? Repot and reclaim that out-of-control houseplant; separate those perennials, dig out that sapling and reuse one of your plastic pots to plant them.
Please bring them to St. Paul’s Parish Picnic at Shelter #6 at Long Leaf Park on May 22 at 5:30 pm.
We will have a special space set up for a plant swap. Maybe you are just beginning to try your luck at indoor or outdoor gardening? Then visit Maryelle Jones at our plant exchange to answer questions, make suggestions or just chat about your garden or plans for gardening. Whether you bring a plant or not, you are welcome to take a plant or plants home with you, after they have been properly blessed.
In preparation for our Plant Swap, please bring any extra empty plant pots (the plastic type that plants come in at your favorite gardening center), so that other gardeners may use them to pot their plants for sharing. There will be a box marked accordingly in the Parish Hall at St. Paul’s for you to place your plastic containers.
If you have any questions, please send Maryelle an email at email@example.com What a wonderful way to celebrate God’s blessings of nature and sharing with each other!
