An Opportunity to Pray Together

Mar 25, 2020 | Clergy Corner

If you’ve visited St. Paul’s website recently then you’ve probably noticed a new link on the home page. It reads “Online Prayer Service via Zoom Tuesdays and Thursdays”. As we are faced with growing uncertainty and disruption to our daily lives new routines that are life giving become essential for all of us. To that end St. Paul’s leadership is inviting you to join together via Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Morning Prayer Rite II at 9am and Compline at 8pm for the duration of our practice of suspending public worship. It is our hope that this time together can allow us to connect through common prayer even while we are to remain separated physically. While Morning Prayer and Compline may not have been a regular practice for all of us, this extraordinary time invites us into new opportunities to engage with one another as sisters and brothers in Christ; participate as is meaningful for you.

To join, simply go to spechurch.com and click on the link on the home page. Follow the simple instructions to join. Should you have any trouble, call Julie Martin or Bob Crafts (see parish directory) and they will help you through the process. If you don’t have access to the directory, email webmaster@spechurch.com and Julie will contact you. We are encouraging everyone to follow along using the online resources provided by Mission St. Clare (web link provided below). You are of course welcome to follow along with your at home 1979 Book of Common Prayer. As our old routines have been disrupted I hope new ones such as this provide a welcome opportunity to connect with one another through prayers for the world and one another. I hope to see you online soon.

God’s Peace,

The Rev. Adam Pierce
